to anyone who actually reads my xanga:

I retract the statement that Bob Mitchell Jr. is a "fucking douchebag." I do not retract my hatred for him because I do still hate the man. I understand that not everyone feels that way and that's fine. Obviously he liked you more than he liked me, you were a favorite, or you just got treated better than I did. I will probably have issues with that man forever but I realize not all of you do. Whatever...everyone is an individual entitled to their own opinions. I do not dislike or disrespect you if you do like the man, I just do not agree with you. Sorry to anyone who this angered, I just happened to be in an angry mood when I filled out the survey.

to socket2008:

obviously you are a cowardly loser or you would've been brave enough to reveal your identity. Too bad you have to waste your time reading the xangas of people you don't know that well because if you knew me then I would know you. 1. Bob Mitchell Jr. is NOT the best director ever or else he wouldn't play favorites and treat people like shit-and no not just me and my sister. 2. My sister's acting does NOT suck and I'm sorry you're so jealous that she's better than you. 3. How we handle situations is our own choice and I can assure you that that's not the only way we've "dealt" with the situation. 4. Alyssa did not just "skip" rehearsal, she happens to be involved in an activity for the elite of music that she could not miss which was not her choice. 5. You sound like Bob Mitchell Jr. and if you really are Bob Mitchell Jr. I feel incredibly sorry that you have to waste your time reading the xangas of ex-students who you hated anyways. I'd say more but since I'm not really a bitch, just a girl looking for fairness in life, I can't. Whoever you are, I am going to choose to be the better person and not name call and insult someone who I don't even know.

ok im not going to be a "cowardly loser" and try to hide who i am (im not socket2008 tho, just to make that clear) and since i didnt get to read socket2008 comment i just have ur responce to it to reply to

so lets break this down, im going to respond to each number individually

1.  I agree, he probably isnt the best director, if he was he would be somewhere other the a small school.  but he is one damn good director and knows what he is doing.

2.  your absolutly right, your sisters acting does not suck.  if it had she would not have gotten some of the parts she did in the past.  socket2008 was completly out of line with this comment

3.  i have no responce to this one since i...
         a) have no clue how you "dealt" with it
         b) am a little confused at why there is a "situation"

4.  a)  first of all congrats to Alyssa for being able to participate in this elite musical group
     b) Mr mitchell had no problem with her attending them, but with the understanding she would be at the monday of tech week.  he can be flexible with the schedual if you work something out with him (like when he let her miss the manditory practice on friday)
    c) u say she didnt skip, if he wasnt aware she was going to be gone then she did in fact skip, no matter where she was.
    d) Stuart Wallace had to miss activities of this same elite group for pep band, so saying she cant miss them isnt true

5.  ok so you discribe yourself as an "ex-students who you hated anyways", and "just a girl looking for fairness in life".  in the first paragraph you talk say about socket2008 "Obviously he liked you more than he liked me" and "you were a favorite"
            a)  I dont think Mr Mitchell hates any of his ex-students
            b) He doesnt play favorites,  he simply goes on who would fill the chararacterisics the role calls for
                       i) If he did play favorites and u and ur sister werent one of them then alyssa wouldnt have gotten a big part in annie get your gun, and she had one of the larger roles in godspell
            c) Your junior year you won one of the biggest awards offered with  Tri-Valley theatre.  The 5 mins award is the award that means u made every moment on stage worth it.  Its an award that is decided by who, MR MITCHELL.  If you are so hated by this man, if he really does play favorites and ur not one of them, you wouldnt have gotten that award.   Not bad for a girl that cant seem to find fairness in life right

ok, so...if you can't tell, this is alyssa! guess what?! the musical is over! get over it!!! to quote a great song "why can't we be friends...why can't we be friends..." alright, sappy moment over...now...mr. mitchell and i never had an "agreement" that said that i would be there on monday nite for rehearsal...i told him flat out (and not to mention on my conflict calendar) that i would be gone friday for 2 college visits (that i would not reschedule, though i could have if necessary) and a concert (which was not part of the original plans, but became included very soon after)...i also said that i would be required to miss all monday rehearsals for youth symphony (including the one for tech week)...when i made out my conflict calendar i was not aware that the friday of tech week would be a flat-out, mandatory, let's-learn-all-of-our-choreography-one-week-before-we-perform rehearsal, though i realized it was a part of tech week...had i known at the time that it would be considered entirely mandatory, i would not have scheduled college visits for that day...i could have rescheduled them if told beforehand that it would be entirely mandatory on friday and given my ticket to the concert to someone else...also, if mr. mitchell had realized (in advance...seeing as i assume he read the conflict calendars) that i would be missing two tech week rehearsals, he could have very easily casted me in a smaller role...however, my role was very small to begin with (having only two lines and part of a solo) and how this "disrupted the flow of the musical" is still foreign to me...if someone was following along in the script they could have read my 2 lines and it could have all been dandy! i understand my punishment of taking away my lines was to be similar to a sports player having to miss games for unexcused abesenses at practices, however, when basketball/football/baseball/etc. people miss their practices without excuse and have to miss only one game is very different than a musical where there are only 3 shows total...getting one of my lines back was a good compromise and i thank God that a compromise was made...i will say that mr. mitchell is a good director; his productions always turn out very well (even when there are rocky parts during tech week!) and he gives very good stage instructions...to say he is the best i will ever have is uncertain! i may go to college and find a director who has directed on broadway! God only knows! now, for socket2008 to say my acting sucks was a bit harsh...i am still quite upset about that, but it's a comment that i will take to heart and try to improve where i can! now, stuart missed practices for youth symphony for pep band because pep band is a musical PERFORMANCE (which is excused)...not rehearsal...had i known this all was going to cause so much drama, i may have been able to talk to my symphony director and ask special permission to miss rehearsal that night...the problem with all of that is, youth symphony meets once a week...one time every seven days...we have about 10 or so actual rehearsals before we are expected to perform our music...missing rehearsal is highly unacceptable (as i realize it is for the musical as well!) and to make that decision was honestly one of the most difficult decisions in my life! to this day i still thank God for helping me to make what i believe was the right decision in that matter...to say that i missed a lot of rehearsals is somewhat accurate, though i only missed the ones that i specified i would miss before the musical even started...other people were able to miss for sports practices and i believe there were even a few rehearsals that we were missing a main character that we did not know their where-abouts...ok...the whole favorites thing...well...that's a very interesting topic...to say that i casted all 3 main characters of the musical before auditions occured would be accurate...to say that i casted a large majority of other productions accurately before they occured would also be correct...i realize that mr. mitchell puts people in parts that they "fill the characteristics the role calls for", but one must realize that (bear with me as i use this term) acting is one of the most wonderful arts on this planet! to be able to create a character in your mind and to do what they do how you would imagine them doing it if they were real and not ficticious is a very difficult concept! some people are able to do this more accurately than others...i will admit that! however, this is still high school! we're trying to learn this art and appreciate it so that we may go forth from the production as a more experienced person and even sometimes more critical person! when someone such as my sister is given roles that are very similar year after year and not truly being able to expand your horizons as you had hoped, it does give you a wee-bit of pent-up aggression (though it does make you better at what you do, hence her truly deserving reception of the 5 minutes award)...this is visible through her comment...however, you must realize that my sister and i are best friends...we always have been and always will be! she loves me for who i am and defends me and the decisions that i make...to go and attack her is not right! attack me if you must, but realize i will also defend my actions...stepping into a situation that you are not familiar with is not the best of ideas...it causes more drama that is truly not necessary in a high schooler's life that already has enough...anyways...i hope this will make all of this pointless drama end and hopefully open the clouds to a few rays of sunshine so that we may all see each other face to face the way God intends us to see each other...i just want to keep my positive memories of Godspell and hope that others can too! i especially hope that God's light will shine on all those that saw the musical and He will bless them to understand His message...and remember, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your enemy, and PRAY for those who persecute you!!! Christ has died, Christ has risen, Christ will come again...EVERYONE's sister in Christ ~*alyssa*~

ok, well being put 'in the middle of this' I agree with BOTH statements, or should i say all 3, yet in different ways.

1. I do think that mr. m has favorites, and i personally dont think im one of them....

2. I missed rehearsals and didnt lose my lines...

3. I think that everyone should just love each other

4. Socket2008, YES i know WHO YOU ARE.... yeah, you an asshole, and were completely out of line. I did see what that person said to jessica, and it was awful. I cant believe that you call youself a christian....

Sorry, that was harsh, but what that person said was out of line.

5.  I love all my theatre people, and i try to use my part to my best ability (wow that SOUNDS dirty, but i mean my role...) AND  i try not to get made over parts, and rehearsals.

6. well thats really it, i just felt like adding a number 6.

Well, like i said...thats it. But i love everyone!

alright....i agree in most part with what everyone said, but there are a few things that i dont agree with. Mainly the favorite thing. I am not gonna say more because it needs to be dropped just as Alyssa has said. Alyssa makes some really good points and i think she has covered everything that matters just fine.

so thats that.

K, how the heck I stumbled across your Xanga I don't know, but I would like to coment on the posts by Socket2008.

1) Your sister's acting does NOT suck, she is a great actor and it was a pleasure to be her "little brother" in Annie Get Your Gun.

2) I don't believe Mr.Mitchell chooses favorites I believe that he goes by what he sees during auditions.

3) I think this Socket2008 should come out of the closet and show his/her identity

4) I do not think that Bob Jr. is the best director, but DO think that many of his productions are great and I am proud to be in them

5) That is all I can think of, so I hope you find this person

6) Oh, I think that Socket2008 was out of line saying what ever he said to you, ( I bet it was big, considering it got this who thing going)
